DOTHAN, Ala. (WDNews) — Dothan Leisure Services is bringing back its 22nd annual Health & Wellness Workshop, offering the community a free day of health resources, screenings and education.
The workshop will be held Wednesday, Sept. 9, from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Dothan Civic Center Arena, 126 N. St. Andrews St. Admission is free.
This year’s theme is “Launch Into Wellness.”
According to Dothan Leisure Services, the workshop will feature more than 45 vendor booths, including medical providers and organizations focused on fitness, nutrition, self-care and financial wellness.
Health professionals from Flowers Hospital and Southeast Health are scheduled to speak. The event will also include health screenings and a Fitness for Seniors Zumba session.
The first 150 attendees will receive complimentary coffee, while lunch will be provided to the first 400 attendees. More than $1,000 in gift cards will also be given away throughout the day.
Proceeds from the workshop will benefit the Alfred Saliba Family Services Center and its Diabetes Coalition program.
