DOTHAN, Ala. — The City of Dothan officially celebrated the completion of the Forever Wild Dog Park with a ribbon-cutting ceremony, marking the end of a project that began in October 2024.
According to Dothan Leisure Services, the project was made possible through a partnership with the Forever Wild Land Trust and the Alabama Department of Conservation and Natural Resources.
Phase One opened in January 2026 and included approximately 3.7 acres of fenced dog park space with separate areas for large and small dogs, a pavilion and play amenities. The completion of restroom facilities as part of Phase Two officially finishes the project.
The dog park, located at 387 Narcisse Drive, is designed to provide a dedicated space for dogs to exercise and socialize while offering amenities for owners to enjoy.
Officials said the project was made possible through the support of city leaders, state partners, local departments and community organizations that helped bring the vision to life.
Visitors are encouraged to review the park’s rules and guidelines before visiting to help ensure a safe and enjoyable experience for everyone.
