JACKSON COUNTY, Fla. (WDNews) — A months-long investigation by the Jackson County Sheriff’s Office has resulted in the arrest of a Jackson County man on multiple child exploitation charges.
According to the Jackson County Sheriff’s Office, the investigation began in February 2026 after the agency received information from the Internet Crimes Against Children (ICAC) Task Force.
During the investigation, detectives executed multiple search warrants and subpoenas, analyzed digital evidence and identified Justin Lawrence Morgan as the suspect.
On June 24, investigators executed a search warrant at Morgan’s residence with assistance from the Sheriff’s Office Tactical Team. Homeland Security Investigations and HSI Digital Forensic Analysts also assisted with the search and conducted on-scene forensic examinations of electronic devices.
Authorities said multiple electronic devices were seized during the search. A forensic review conducted at the scene identified numerous files associated with the investigation, leading to Morgan’s arrest.
“Child exploitation will not be tolerated in Jackson County,” Sheriff Donnie Edenfield said. “Our investigators are relentless in pursuing these cases, and we will continue working alongside our state and federal partners to hold offenders accountable. If you choose to exploit children, you will be identified, arrested, and prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law.”
Morgan was charged with four counts of promoting a sexual performance by a child and 16 counts of possession of child pornography.
Officials said Morgan was on state probation at the time of his arrest. He is being held on a $600,000 bond on the new charges and is also being held without bond for an alleged probation violation.
The Jackson County Sheriff’s Office said the investigation remains active and additional charges may be forthcoming.
