GULF SHORES, Ala. (WDNews) — Many in the Wiregrass travel to Gulf Shores for the Hangout Music Festival. Dont expect to go this coming year. Gulf Shores officials say the Hangout Music Festival will not be held in 2026, giving organizers extra time to secure major performers for its next run.
Mayor Robert Craft shared the update during Monday’s council meeting, explaining that the festival team couldn’t lock in the level of headlining acts the city wanted for next year. He emphasized that the additional time should help producers shape the kind of lineup the community expects.
“They’ve got time now to pursue the type of talent that we want on our beaches to invite the right audience that we want on our beaches that we proved at the last event that could happen,” Craft said.
In place of Hangout this year, Gulf Shores hosted the “Sand in My Boots” festival, a more country-driven weekend headlined by Morgan Wallen. The bill also featured Post Malone, Brooks & Dunn, T-Pain, Ella Langley and Wiz Khalifa.
The Hangout Festival is expected to return in 2027.
