JACKSON COUNTY, Fla. (WDNews) — A months-long investigation into methamphetamine distribution led to charges against eight people, with two still wanted as of an Oct. 21 release, according to the Jackson County Sheriff’s Office.
Investigators made multiple methamphetamine purchases totaling 556 grams before obtaining and serving warrants at several homes, the sheriff’s office said.
During one search, investigators recovered an additional 215 grams of methamphetamine, along with other drugs, drug paraphernalia and evidence. The purchases and seizure totaled 771 grams, or about 1.7 pounds, according to the release.
“Methamphetamine steals more than someone’s health—it steals time with their children, trust in their marriage, and peace in their home. Behind every addiction is a family hurting and a child who deserves stability. We will continue holding those who sell this poison accountable while encouraging those struggling with addiction to seek help. Recovery is possible, and families are worth fighting for,” Sheriff Donnie Edenfield said.
According to the sheriff’s office, the investigation resulted in the following charges and warrants:
Michael Patterson faces charges of selling and trafficking in methamphetamine; possession of drug paraphernalia; possession of Adderall, a Schedule II controlled substance; possession of Suboxone, a Schedule III controlled substance; unlawful communication using a two-way device; and violation of probation.
Derrick Williams faces charges of selling and trafficking in methamphetamine and unlawful communication using a two-way device.
Jessie Rae Price faces a charge of trafficking in methamphetamine.
Edward Granberry, David Deese and William Adams each face a charge of selling methamphetamine.
Jerrell Lovett is wanted on a charge of trafficking in methamphetamine. Michael Barnes is wanted on charges of trafficking in methamphetamine and unlawful communication using a two-way device.
Anyone with information about Lovett’s or Barnes’ whereabouts is asked to call the Jackson County Sheriff’s Office at 850-482-9624. Anonymous tips can be submitted to Panhandle Crime Stoppers at 785-TIPS (8477).
