DOTHAN, Ala. (WDNews) — Families looking for something free to do this weekend can head to downtown Dothan for an evening of live bluegrass music.
According to the City of Dothan, The Park Concert Series will feature 15-year-old bluegrass artist Shay Morgan on Saturday, Aug. 29, at Porter Park Events Plaza. The Byrd Family will open the show.
The city said Morgan is already making a name for herself in bluegrass and country music. She recently made her CMA debut and has shared the stage with artists including Carly Pearce, Ricky Skaggs and Molly Tuttle.
The Byrd Family, a local bluegrass group, will kick off the evening with its signature sound.
Food trucks will also be part of the event. According to the city, Greek Street Dothan, P.S. Taco Company – Dothan, Sloozies and The Lemon Press are scheduled to serve food and refreshments beginning at 5 p.m.
The concert is free and open to all ages.
