DOTHAN, Ala. (WDNews) — Drivers traveling along Headland Avenue in Dothan will need to use an alternate route while emergency repairs are made to the railroad crossing.
According to the Dothan-Houston County Emergency Management Agency, CSX Transportation is making repairs to the tracks at the Headland Avenue at-grade crossing.
Crews are removing pavement and replacing rail through the crossing. Officials said the repair was identified as needing attention on short notice.
The Headland Avenue crossing is expected to remain closed for two to four days while repairs are completed.
Road closure signs are being placed in the area, and drivers are being directed to use the Cherry Street railroad crossing as an alternate route.
The City of Dothan also lists the closure as lasting up to four days, or through Thursday, Aug. 27.
