DOTHAN, Ala. (WDNews) — Flowers Hospital Vice President of Business Development Jeff Brannon has received the Alabama Hospital Association’s Gold Medal of Excellence, the organization’s highest honor.
The award was presented during the Alabama Hospital Association’s Annual Meeting on June 5, 2026. The Gold Medal of Excellence recognizes individuals whose leadership, service and contributions have made a lasting impact on healthcare across Alabama.
According to the Alabama Hospital Association, its Board of Trustees selected Brannon for the honor in recognition of his leadership, advocacy and lifelong commitment to advancing healthcare in the state.
Brannon’s healthcare career spans more than 35 years. He began his career as an orderly before becoming a cardiovascular intensive care nurse and later serving in executive leadership roles at hospitals across Alabama. His leadership positions have included serving as chief executive officer of Flowers Hospital, Medical Center Enterprise, Monroe County Hospital and Wiregrass Medical Center.
For more than 20 years, Brannon has also served the Alabama Hospital Association in several leadership roles, including multiple terms on the Board of Trustees, Board Chair, Alabama Delegate to the American Hospital Association, Chair of the Association’s Workforce Task Force and Chair of HOSPAC.
