DOTHAN, Ala. (WDNews) — Costumes, candy and fall fun are just three days away as Boo Fest returns to downtown Dothan on Saturday, Oct. 24.
The outdoor festival runs from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Porter Park Events Plaza and along North Saint Andrews Street. Admission is free, and no registration is required to attend, according to Dothan Leisure Services. Some offerings carry a separate charge.
Children can trick-or-treat from booth to booth while families browse more than 60 booths featuring local businesses, organizations and artisan vendors. Food trucks and city department booths will also be part of the festival.
The children’s activity zone, presented by D.R. Horton, will feature inflatables, games and a new rock-climbing wall. Local young performers will provide music and dance performances, and a crafts station will offer more Halloween fun.
Children ages 17 and younger can enter the costume contest for $5. Prizes are planned for first, second and third place, along with the most creative, scariest and funniest costumes. Free face painting is also listed among the activities.
A local celebrity pie-eating contest will feature Jesse Brown, Brinley Culbreth, Jakia Pearson, Sarah Sims, Brandy White and Brian Riviere.
The city’s announcement lists Porter Park Events Plaza at 125 N. Saint Andrews St. For more information, contact Helen Wu with Dothan Leisure Services at 334-615-3700 or hwu@dothan.org.
