OZARK, Ala. (WDNews) — The curtain goes up tomorrow as Dale County and Ozark City Schools present Sister Act at the Flowers Center for the Performing Arts.
Opening night is set for 7 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 26, kicking off a three-night run that continues through Saturday, Feb. 28. All performances begin at 7 p.m.
The production is directed by Megan Hobson, with Michelle Kelley serving as music director. The hit musical features music by Alan Menken, lyrics by Glenn Slater and a book by Cheri Steinkellner and Bill Steinkellner.
Sister Act tells the story of a lounge singer who finds herself hiding in a convent, where she unexpectedly transforms the church choir and the lives around her through music.
Tickets are $15 each, plus a convenience fee for credit card purchases. They are available online through TicketLeap.
Organizers say the show highlights the hard work and talent of local students and staff, bringing a well-known Broadway favorite to the Wiregrass stage.
Community members are encouraged to come out and support the cast as opening night gets underway in OZARK.
