DOTHAN, Ala. (WDNews) — From sports stars to concert tickets, Google’s “Year in Search 2025” offers a snapshot of what grabbed the Wiregrass’ attention over the past year. The newly released data highlights the most-searched jerseys, tickets, slang terms and songs among users in the Dothan area.
In the jerseys category, Philadelphia Eagles quarterback Jalen Hurts claimed the No. 1 spot, followed by the Pittsburgh Steelers. Searches also surged for Yoshinobu Yamamoto of the Los Angeles Dodgers, LaMelo Ball, and Baker Mayfield, rounding out the top five in Dothan.
When it came to tickets, residents were most eager to look up the Make America Slime Again Tour featuring NBA YoungBoy. Searches also climbed for the DominATE Tour with Stray Kids, Chris Brown’s Breezy Bowl XX, Universal Epic Universe, and Florida State Seminoles football.
Google also tracked the slang terms Dothan users searched most often. The top results included “67,” “Mangy,” “41,” “SE,” and “cock a snook.” The phrase “cock a snook” is an older British expression meaning to show disrespect or mock someone, often by placing a thumb on the nose and wiggling the fingers — a gesture traditionally used to taunt or ridicule.
In the songs category, the area favored a mix of new hits and familiar classics. Alex Warren’s “Ordinary” topped searches, followed by Taylor Swift’s “Wood.” The Goo Goo Dolls’ enduring hit “Iris” came in third, along with “Blue Strips” by Jessie M. and “Soda Pop” by Saja Boys rounding out the list.
Google’s annual report offers a unique look at what caught the Wiregrass’ interest in 2025, showing how national trends continue to shape local curiosity.
