Former NASCAR Driver Michael Annett Dies at 39

DOTHAN, Ala. (WDNews) — Former NASCAR Xfinity Series driver Michael Annett has died at the age of 39, according to reports released Sunday. Details surrounding his cause of death have not yet been made public.
Annett, a native of Des Moines, Iowa, competed in more than 300 NASCAR national series races during his career. He was best known for his years in the Xfinity Series, where he earned his first and only career win at Daytona in 2019 while driving for JR Motorsports.
Before transitioning to stock car racing, Annett was a successful hockey player, even winning a national championship as a junior. His time in NASCAR stretched across more than a decade until a leg injury in 2021 contributed to his decision to retire.
