DOTHAN, Ala. (WDNews) — A 65-year-old Georgia man was identified as the victim in a deadly crash Friday afternoon on Columbia Highway, authorities said.

Coroner Robert Byrd confirmed that James Albert Greenwood of Ludowici, Ga., died following a head-on collision involving two pickup trucks near Husky Road around 2:25 p.m. Friday.

The crash briefly trapped at least one person, and one of the vehicles caught fire. First responders shut down Columbia Highway in both directions from Beverly Road to Omussee Road as crews worked the scene.

Another person was taken to the hospital under a trauma alert. Their condition was not immediately known.
