DOTHAN, Ala. (WDNews) — A critical two-vehicle crash on Columbia Highway near Huskey Road has left one person dead and another seriously injured Friday afternoon.
The crash was reported around 2:25 p.m. and involved two trucks in what authorities describe as a head-on collision. One of the vehicles caught fire, and emergency crews worked to free an entrapped victim. One person was transported to the hospital under a trauma alert.
Columbia Highway is completely closed in both directions, with officers blocking traffic from Beverly Road to Omussee Road. Drivers are urged to avoid the area, as the roadway is expected to remain shut down for an undetermined amount of time.
