Dothan, Al. (WDNews)- Tyler Kent joined What’s Happening Wiregrass to discuss The Uncarried’s upcoming “From Awareness to Action” event, a free day of suicide prevention education and training set for Thursday, July 23.
The Uncarried, a community-led organization, focuses on reducing isolation, encouraging honest conversations about mental health, and connecting people with available resources.
The event begins at 9 a.m. at the Alfred Saliba Family Services Center Auditorium in downtown Dothan, with educational sessions starting at 10 a.m.
Attendees will hear the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention’s “Talk Saves Lives” presentation before participating in QPR (Question, Persuade, Refer) suicide prevention training led by the Alabama Suicide Prevention and Resource Coalition.
Lunch, catered by Firehouse Subs, will be provided, along with Starbucks coffee, and attendees will have opportunities to win prepaid Visa gift cards. The event is free and open to the public, though registration is encouraged to help organizers estimate attendance.
Those interested can register or learn more by visiting theuncarried.org or The Uncarried’s Facebook page.
