Dothan, Al. (WDNews) – On this week’s episode of the Dragon’s Den Coaches Show, assistant coach Tommy Shepard joined Aaron to talk about Dothan United’s recent road win and everything happening during a big holiday weekend for the club.
Shepard said the Dragons got off to a slow start Wednesday night but came out with a completely different energy in the second half. The team moved the ball well, worked harder and found the back of the net twice to pick up an important 2-0 win and three points.
The two also looked ahead to Friday night’s friendly against Tallahassee SC. While the match doesn’t count in the standings, Shepard said it’s a great chance for players who haven’t seen as many minutes to show what they can do. Aaron added that fans can expect much more than just soccer, with a fireworks show after the match, family-friendly activities, special ticket deals and a canned food drive benefiting The Salvation Army.
The conversation wrapped up with a look at the playoff race. Shepard explained that the Dragons still control their own destiny, needing a win and a draw over their final two league matches to lock up the division title. Aaron encouraged fans to come out for one of the biggest nights of the season, saying it’s one of the last chances to catch the Dragons at home while enjoying a great community event.
