Dothan, Al. (WDNews) – Chef Chelsea joined Wiregrass Daily News to talk about Landmark Park’s upcoming Farm to Table event, scheduled for June 20 at 6 p.m.
Chelsea said she has curated a menu that is about 90 percent locally sourced, featuring ingredients from farmers in Wicksburg, Dothan, Cottonwood and Ashford. Guests can expect dishes including a watermelon salad, chilled corn soup shooter, roasted squash with hot honey, flank steak with greens chimichurri and peach pudding made with Chilton County peaches and products from Working Cows Dairy.
Chelsea said the event grew out of conversations with Landmark Park leadership and reflects her passion for supporting area farmers. As a Sweet Grown Alabama ambassador and someone involved with the local farmers market, she enjoys introducing people to new ways to prepare familiar ingredients while showcasing what is grown in the Wiregrass.
Gates open at 5:30 p.m., with dinner beginning at 6 p.m. Tickets and additional information are available through Landmark Park’s website and Facebook page. Organizers hope to finalize attendance numbers early in the week so preparations can begin for the locally inspired meal.
