Dothan, Al. (WDNews) – Brinley Culbreth, Executive Director of Downtown Dothan, and Hannah Shiver, Director of Visit Dothan, joined What’s Happening Wiregrass? to discuss ongoing efforts to support local businesses, promote tourism, and enhance the downtown experience for residents and visitors alike.
Culbreth recently stepped into her role leading Downtown Dothan and has spent her first few weeks connecting with business owners, learning their needs, and working to strengthen the district.
She explained that the organization’s focus includes supporting existing businesses, attracting new investment, and creating a welcoming, walkable destination in the heart of the city.
The pair also discussed Downtown Dothan’s recent Main Street program interview, which followed a visit to Jasper, Alabama, to explore a successful downtown revitalization model.
Leaders believe the designation would provide valuable resources and support as momentum continues to build in the area.
Several exciting developments are also on the horizon, including the opening of a renovated downtown building that will house Downtown Books and a new antique mall.
While Foster Fest is not expected to return, community members can look forward to expanded programming, including concerts and other events designed to bring more activity to downtown Dothan throughout the year.
