Dothan, Al. (WDNews) – Wiregrass Daily met with Ann Cotton to talk about the return of Wiregrass Talent Quest Junior, now entering its 13th year at the Cultural Arts Center.
The competition is open to children ages five to eighteen and features four categories including dance, vocals, instrumentals, and musical theater.
Contestants will perform live on stage in front of three judges and a full audience as part of a full-scale production with professional lighting, an emcee, and live entertainment.
Winners in each category will receive $200, with an overall first place prize of $500. A People’s Choice Award will also be presented, with 30 percent of funds raised going back to the winning student’s school to support performing arts programs.
The event serves as a fundraiser for the Cultural Arts Center and is sponsored by Five Star Credit Union. Registration is now open for students interested in competing. Families can find full contest details and registration information at www.theculturalartscenter.org/wtq.
