Dothan, AL. (WDNews) – Wiregrass Daily News sat down with SEACT’s Evan Ash to talk about the theater’s upcoming holiday production, The Game’s Afoot. Ash, who stars as William Gillette, shared how this fast-paced whodunit blends mystery, comedy, and a touch of slapstick to create a lively Christmas-season experience.

Set in 1936, the story follows Gillette as he hosts his cast for a holiday gathering that quickly unravels when a murder strikes, sending the group into a whirlwind of twists, surprises, and witty chaos.

Ash noted that while the cast is small, the show is technically ambitious, featuring an intricate set and backstage crew that bring the production to life.

He also enjoyed diving into research on the real William Gillette, a historical actor known for portraying Sherlock Holmes and even building a castle in Connecticut.

The show opens Thursday, December 11, with performances running through December 13 at the Cultural Arts Center. Tickets are available at SEACT.com or by calling 334-794-0400.
