Dothan, Al. (WDNews) – Wiregrass Daily News chatted with John and Elizabeth of BRAVE, Battle Buddies Ready to Assist Veterans Everywhere, about the Enterprise-based ministry that’s changing lives across the Wiregrass.

Founded in October 2023 at the Church on Bull Weevil Circle, BRAVE has already helped 29 homeless veterans find permanent housing, furnishing apartments and covering deposits, groceries, and even vehicles for those in need.

Led by the church’s military pastor, John, alongside Jay Martin and Bob Schaefer, BRAVE provides year-round support to veterans of all ages and their families, including widows. Beyond housing, the group offers bill assistance, rides to appointments, and mobility aids such as wheelchairs and ramps.

Each month, BRAVE hosts a free dinner for veterans featuring guest speakers, peer support, and access to counseling resources. Entirely donation funded, BRAVE welcomes contributions of vehicles, furniture, and monetary gifts.

This Friday, Nov. 7, supporters can attend the BRAVE Benefit Dance at the Daleville Cultural Arts Center from 7 to 10 p.m., featuring live entertainment, desserts, and community fellowship, all to honor and uplift local heroes.
