Dothan, AL. (WDNews) – Wiregrass Daily News sat down with Caleb Long of Toyota of Dothan to discuss the dealership’s continued support of Toys for Tots.
Long, who has been involved with the program for nearly a decade, explained that the Marine Corps League founded Toys for Tots in 1947 to bring hope to children and unite communities during the holiday season.
Toyota of Dothan has partnered with Toys for Tots for nearly twenty years, hosting annual collection events where community members can donate new, unwrapped toys or make monetary contributions.
This year’s collection events will be held November 7–8 at Southside Ollie’s and November 14 at Southside Walmart, from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Donations will continue to be accepted at Toyota of Dothan through mid-December.
All toys and funds collected remain within the Wiregrass area to support local families. Families in need of assistance can register for Toys for Tots through Wiregrass’s 211 before the November 20 cutoff date.
The goal this year is to fill at least 45 boxes, ensuring a brighter holiday season for children across the community.
