Dothan, Al (WDNews) – Wiregrass Daily News had the pleasure of meeting with Carrie Wilson, founder of RISE—Reaching Individual Success Thru Empowerment to discuss her mission to build financial confidence across the Wiregrass.
After 11 years in banking, Wilson watched neighbors get sidelined by limited credit literacy and debt.
Today, RISE hosts free community workshops that demystify budgeting, credit, and smart borrowing, while also offering entrepreneurship coaching, career development, and mental-health awareness—because money habits, opportunity, and mindset all work together.
Thanks to generous partners and volunteers, workshops are popping up throughout the region, and youth programming is growing with small-group sessions and a fall gala that fuels 2026 plans for sliding-scale, one-on-one mentorships for families who need tailored guidance.
