ASHFORD, Ala. (WDNews) — A day of friendly competition will help feed people in need this Thanksgiving as a Cornhole and Pickleball Tournament comes to Ashford in November.
According to SEACH Al-508 CoC, the tournament is scheduled for Friday, Nov. 20, from 1 to 5 p.m. at Eastgate Park, located at 1949 Sanitary Dairy Road in Ashford.
The event will bring players and community members together for an afternoon of games while raising money to help those who are unhoused or facing financial hardships.
The entry fee is $20 per player or team. All proceeds will go toward providing Thanksgiving meals for those in need throughout the area.
Organizers hope the tournament will give residents a chance to enjoy some friendly competition while supporting a cause that directly benefits the community.
The event is supported by several organizations, including ALIGN, SEACH, People Engaged in Recovery (PEIR), Oxford House, Westgate Church of Christ and the Alabama Council on Recovery and Mental Health.
Community members are encouraged to participate and help make Thanksgiving a little brighter for their neighbors.
The tournament’s message is simple: Play, support and give back.
