OZARK, Ala. (WDNews) — Ed Lisenby Lake will remain closed until further notice as crews address hurricane damage and safety hazards, according to an Oct. 21 release from the City of Ozark.
The city is working with the State of Alabama to assess damage to the bait house and determine what repairs are needed. The bait house and restrooms will remain closed until repairs are complete.
Crews are also removing fallen trees from the walking trail. Standing trees are being checked for hazards, including the risk of falling.
The trail will remain closed until debris and potential hazards have been addressed.
The city said the lake’s facilities will reopen as areas are cleared and considered safe for public use. No reopening date was announced.
“We appreciate the community’s patience and understanding as cleanup and safety efforts continue,” the city said in the release.
Updates will be provided as the work continues.
