Dothan, Ala. (WDNews) — A new partnership is helping power the future workforce in the Wiregrass.

Wallace Community College is recognizing Alabama Power Company for its continued support of the school’s Lineworker Program, highlighted by the recent donation of a bucket truck. College leaders say the equipment will play a key role in giving students hands-on training that closely mirrors real-world job conditions.
Officials say the addition of the bucket truck is expected to strengthen workforce development efforts by allowing students to gain practical experience before entering the field.
The college also recognized Jason Davis, Vice President of the Southeast Division at Alabama Power and a member of the Wallace Foundation Board, for his continued support of workforce programs at the college.
College leaders say partnerships like this continue to make a lasting impact, helping prepare the next generation of skilled lineworkers across the region.
