According to the Dothan Police Department, the program is offered at no cost and is made possible through a partnership with Wiregrass RC&D. The academy focuses on building positive relationships between officers and young people while providing an inside look at police work.
Officials say the program aims to inspire participants through interactive activities and real-world learning experiences. The department also emphasized the importance of the connections formed during each session of the academy.
Registration forms can be submitted directly to the Dothan Police Department or through any School Resource Officer.
