DALEVILLE, Ala. (WDNews) — The Southeast Alabama Highland Games will bring Scottish athletics, music and a new Renaissance festival to Culpepper Park on Saturday, Oct. 24.

The ninth annual event is scheduled for 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., according to the Southeast Celtic Society, which organizes the games.

The new festival will include medieval fighting demonstrations and performers. Visitors can also expect bagpipe and drum bands, clan tents and Irish dancers.

The athletic competition is set to include nine events, weather permitting, according to Backyard Rebellion’s event listing.

Food vendors will serve local and European dishes. Well-behaved pets are allowed on leashes, and owners must clean up after them.

Organizers hope to add an evening gathering, depending on attendance.
