JACKSON COUNTY, Fla. (WDNews) — A Jackson County man has been arrested following an investigation into allegations of childhood sexual abuse, according to the Jackson County Sheriff’s Office.
Authorities said the investigation began in May 2026 after allegations of childhood sexual abuse were reported to the sheriff’s office. Investigators with the agency’s Criminal Investigations Division conducted interviews, reviewed records and gathered evidence related to the allegations.
According to investigators, information developed during the investigation supported the allegations and helped establish what officials described as a pattern of previously reported abuse.
As a result of the investigation, Pedro Gomez Flores was arrested and charged with four counts of sexual battery upon a child under 12.
The investigation remains under the direction of the Jackson County Sheriff’s Office.
Officials are encouraging anyone affected by abuse or seeking assistance to contact the agency’s victim advocates for support, guidance and connections to available resources. Victim advocates can be reached at (850) 693-3100 or (850) 693-7201.
