MONTGOMERY, Ala.— Several Wiregrass communities are set to benefit from Alabama’s expansion of its nationally recognized First Class Pre-K program after state officials announced 64 new classrooms for the 2026-27 school year.

Among the newly funded classrooms are additions at Rehobeth Primary School in Houston County, Bubbling Babies Early Learning Center in Coffee County, Share My World Academy in Troy and two childcare providers in Dale County.

The Wiregrass-area additions include:

Rehobeth Primary School in Houston County

Bubbling Babies Early Learning Center in Enterprise (two classrooms)

Share My World Academy in Troy

Immanuel CDC Academy in Dale County

Kare Bear Christian Daycare in Dale County (two classrooms)

The new classrooms are part of a statewide expansion announced by the Alabama Department of Early Childhood Education. Officials said the investment will help meet growing demand for high-quality early learning opportunities while increasing access for families across Alabama.

“Providing Alabama’s children with a strong start remains one of our state’s most important investments,” Gov. Kay Ivey said. “These new First Class Pre-K classrooms will help more children enter kindergarten ready to learn and succeed, while strengthening the foundation for Alabama’s future.”

Alabama’s First Class Pre-K program was recently recognized by the National Institute for Early Education Research as the nation’s highest-quality state-funded pre-kindergarten program for the 20th consecutive year, a distinction no other state has achieved.

The newly funded classrooms will begin serving children during the 2026-27 school year.
