ADOC Searching for Escaped Baldwin County Inmate

SUMMERDALE, Ala. (WDNews) — The Alabama Department of Corrections is searching for an inmate who escaped from an assigned community work release job site in Baldwin County on Monday.

According to information released by the Alabama Department of Corrections, 62-year-old Jackie Dewayne Littrell walked away from his assigned job site in Summerdale at approximately 2:30 p.m. on June 22.

Officials said Littrell is housed through the Loxley Community-Based Facility and Community Work Center. He is described as 6 feet, 1 inch tall, weighing approximately 170 pounds, with brown hair and brown eyes.

According to ADOC, Littrell is serving a life sentence stemming from a 2014 first-degree robbery conviction in Colbert County.

Authorities consider Littrell dangerous and are urging the public not to approach him if he is seen. The Alabama Department of Corrections and local Baldwin County law enforcement agencies are coordinating the search effort.
