Hi, Wiregrass! Jenn here, and I’m really glad YOU’RE here!
Today, I had the pleasure of sitting down with Chief Michelle Gilmore of the Southeastern Mvskoke Nation to talk about the Creek Friends’ Festival and what makes this celebration of culture and community so special.
We discussed what visitors could look forward to at this year’s festival, the importance of sharing traditions with future generations, and the beautiful personal story of how her grandmother chose the name Morning Star for her.
In speaking with Chief Gilmore, I learned that her Nation’s heritage is a very special part of Alabama’s story. It is a history that is still being written, with traditions that continue to be passed down through generations.
It was a wonderful conversation about heritage, tradition, and bringing people together. It was short and sweet, and I hope you enjoy it as much as I did!
Okay, we’re here.
We have things to talk about.
So come on, friend.
Let’s get into it! ♥️💋
