Dothan, Al. (WDNews) – On this week’s episode of the Dragon’s Den Coaches Show, Dothan United owner Steve Donner and General Manager Aaron joined the show to discuss a milestone week for the Dragons after clinching a spot in the USL League Two playoffs with a 2-0 road victory over Apotheos FC.
The win secured the club’s second consecutive postseason appearance, but an even bigger opportunity awaits. A victory over Apotheos in Saturday’s regular season finale would give Dothan United its first South Central Division championship, improve its playoff seeding, and could allow the Dragons to host the opening rounds of the playoffs.
The club will also hold a public press conference Friday at 11 a.m. at Rip Hewes Stadium, where team officials will share playoff information and potential hosting details as they become available.
Donner also discussed the club’s upcoming community ownership initiative, which is expected to launch in the coming weeks pending final regulatory approvals. More than 140 people have already expressed interest in learning about the opportunity.
Saturday’s match will also feature a relief collection for Venezuela, Skilled Trades Night with Wallace Community College and Qualico Steel, fan appreciation activities, team photo giveaways for the first 1,500 fans, and a postgame fireworks show. Gates open at 6 p.m., with kickoff at 7 p.m.
