Dothan, Al. (WDNews) – What’s Happening Wiregrass welcomed Haley, Executive Director of Girls Inc. of Dothan, and Christina with the Tri-State 100 to discuss their partnership and the upcoming cycling fundraiser benefiting local girls. Haley shared that Girls Inc. provides after-school and summer programming for girls ages 5 to 13, creating a safe environment where participants can learn, grow, and build confidence while embracing the organization’s mission of helping girls become strong, smart, and bold.
The Tri-State 100, now in its 22nd year, will take place Saturday, June 6, with registration and breakfast beginning at 5 a.m. at Bethel Church in Cottonwood. The 100-mile ride will start at 7 a.m., while participants can also choose from 63-mile, 43-mile, and 25-mile routes. Riders completing the longest route will travel through Alabama, Florida, and Georgia.
Christina explained that proceeds from the event support Girls Inc., helping fund summer programming, field trips, supplies, and daily operations. Organizers are encouraging cyclists of all skill levels to participate and help support local girls while enjoying a day of riding, food, and fellowship. Community support from sponsors, volunteers, and riders continues to make the event a successful fundraiser and an important resource for Girls Inc. throughout the Wiregrass
