Dothan, Ala. — Tuskegee University, the City of Dothan and HudsonAlpha Wiregrass have launched a new partnership aimed at expanding workforce development opportunities for college students in the Wiregrass region.

The collaboration will bring Tuskegee University students to Dothan this summer through the CARVER BioTrain Internship Program, a paid immersive internship focused on biotechnology and real-world workforce experience.

Dothan Mayor Mark Saliba, HudsonAlpha Institute for Biotechnology Director Dean Mitchell and Tuskegee University President and CEO Dr. Mark A. Brown joined together to announce the partnership.

Officials said the program reflects a shared commitment to innovation, workforce growth and economic development across Dothan and the larger Wiregrass area.

Dr. Brown said the agreement represents more than a single internship opportunity and is intended to create long-term pathways for student achievement, regional workforce development and future innovation opportunities.
