Dothan, Al. (WDNews) – What’s Happening Wiregrass sat down with Jesse Draper, founder of Halogen Ventures, during her visit to Dothan ahead of the Wiregrass Pitch and Connect event. Draper shared insight into her firm’s partnership with Innovate Alabama, which focuses on investing in early-stage companies across the state, particularly those led by female founders.
During the event, entrepreneurs will have the opportunity to pitch their ideas for a chance to receive a $50,000 investment, which would mark Halogen’s tenth investment in Alabama. Draper emphasized the importance of bold, problem-solving ideas and highlighted the growing entrepreneurial ecosystem in the Wiregrass area, especially in agriculture and health-related technologies.
She also pointed to Dothan’s potential as a hub for innovation, noting the new Wiregrass Innovation Center as a key driver for future growth. Draper says she is excited to continue supporting Alabama entrepreneurs and plans to return for more opportunities to invest and connect.
